800 employees resign after firm asks them to work from office

Because the Covid scenario has improved, several firms have already called their workers to workplace, ending the make money working from home (WFH).

Over 800 WhiteHat Jr workers have resigned from the children on-line coding studying edtech start-up in the final two months after being asked to work from office.

This comes after WhiteHat Jr, a platform which was acquired by BYJU’S in 2020, asked its employees to return to office inside a month’s time, in response to an Inc42 report.

On March 18, the company announced the coverage to end work from home and requested distant staff to return to workplace by April 18.

The resignations got here from full-time staff of the gross sales, coding, and math groups. Extra workers are expected to place down their papers in the coming months.

One of the employees who resigned advised the web site that a month’s time was not enough for relocation. “Some have children, some have aged and sick dad and mom, while others produce other obligations. It is not proper to call back employees in such a brief time frame,” the previous WhiteHat Jr employee said.

One other worker said salaries also factored within the decision to not return to the workplace. On the time of hiring, employees have been advised about their job location – WhiteHat Jr has workplaces in Gurugram, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Nevertheless, after working from residence for 2 years, staff believed that their salaries should be revised to replicate the cost of dwelling in costly cities.

“This was a well-planned and managed layoff that WhiteHat Jr did,” a former employee remarked.
