TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in jail for traveling to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met on-line, according to officials.

The U.S. Division of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two completely different instances in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Courtroom information say he flew forwards and backwards disguising himself as an English instructor.

A few of the boys, in line with the DOJ, had been lured with promises of cash and gifts. Others launched him as their English teacher.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Safety investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh City. It was part of Venture Secure Childhood, which was an effort to search out baby sex abuse started in 2006 by the DOJ.

Day pleaded responsible to two counts of journey with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor into unlawful sexual exercise, in response to the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in jail.
