A California district attorney declined to file charges Tuesday in opposition to former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson after he was recorded on video in a physical altercation with another passenger on a JetBlue flight.
San Mateo County District Lawyer Steve Wagstaffe made the decision after having reviewed police studies and movies of the April 20 incident. Each the passenger, who has not been recognized, and Tyson requested that no expenses be filed.
"Yesterday afternoon the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Workplace concluded its evaluation of the case involving Mike Tyson on the San Francisco Airport on April 20, 2022 and the allegation that he committed a misdemeanor battery against one other passenger on an airplane whereas ready at the terminal previous to departure," Wagstaffe stated in an announcement.

Cellphone video showed Tyson, 55, showing to try to punch someone who was pushing him away. Representatives for Tyson said the person was harassing Tyson. The video didn't show what happened earlier than the altercation.
David Chesnoff, Richard Schonfeld and Martin Sabelli, attorneys for Tyson, responded to the choice to not file expenses by thanking Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County sheriff and law enforcement businesses "for his or her cautious, diligent, and professional work."
