Father or mother with hid weapon accidentally shoots self whereas at Arlington ISD college, police say
Arlington police said Duff Elementary Faculty was placed on lockdown for a time Thursday after a mum or dad with a concealed weapon had his gun accidentally go off, hitting the parent in the leg.
ARLINGTON, Texas - Arlington police stated Duff Elementary Faculty was placed on lockdown for a time Thursday after a mother or father with a hid weapon had his gun unintentionally go off, hitting the mum or dad in the leg.
The college had early launch and college students had been released on the deliberate time of 12:10 p.m.
Based on police, the parent, recognized as 55-year-old Anthony White, dropped his gun and unintentionally shot himself. His damage was not critical.
The school district said White was inside the constructing, near the foyer area, and never in the hallway close to students when the gun went off.
Police and college officials mentioned there was no threat made and the mum or dad did not have "malicious intent."

No students or workers have been injured. The dad or mum was taken to an space hospital after being shot within the leg.
Arlington Police Chief Al Jones stated after White was launched from the hospital, he was arrested and charged with illegal carrying of a weapon in prohibited places and discharge of a firearm in certain municipalities.
In the two days since the Uvalde mass college shooting, there have been 5 circumstances in North Texas related to guns brought to colleges or threats made.

Arlington dad and mom said their minds immediately thought of the worst when they had been notified.
No mum or dad ever desires there to be a motive for them to get a text message saying their child's college is on lockdown.
But since this week's lethal capturing at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, they can't help but suppose the worst when they do.
"Once I received the textual content message, I was like, ‘Oh my God, something goes to happen.’ I used to be shocked," dad or mum Karima Rasheed said.
While most occasions, lockdowns are only drills students have to take part in, Rasheed's son, Rami, mentioned that knowing what happened earlier this week made this lockdown different.
"I started seeing my classmates beginning to cry and our instructor received a notification on their phone saying someone was within the building," he stated.
Guns will not be allowed on school property, and parents FOX 4 spoke with stated even if it was a mistake, the timing is just terrible.
"What are we going to do? They need to go to high school, and obviously, statistically, it's unlikely to occur, but you by no means wish to be the one statistic. What if it's your children?" Matthew Mitchell stated.
Mitchell lives throughout the street from Duff Elementary. His daughters go to another Arlington college.
"I’m terrified, completely terrified. I’ve bought twin six-year-olds that go to a unique Arlington school and each time I hear there is a lockdown or a school capturing, my heart jumps into my throat," he stated.
Rasheed said Thursday was the commencement day for 6th grade college students at Duff Elementary.
While driving her son to high school within the morning, she had a talk with him about Uvalde and what to do if something ever happened at his faculty.
"If one thing happened, you’ve bought to run anyplace that’s secure and hide," she advised her child.
Whereas some say the incident in Uvalde is simply too fresh to talk politics, Mitchell stated something needs to be achieved now.
"They need to speak about it, they wish to campaign on it, they wish to fundraiser on it, however they don’t wish to really cross any laws and do anything," he added.
