KATHMANDU, Nepal -- A Nepali Sherpa broke her personal record as probably the most profitable female climber of Mount Everest by reaching the summit of the world's highest peak Thursday.

Sherpa, 48, never obtained an opportunity to get a formal education as a result of she had to start incomes a living by carrying climbing gear and supplies for trekkers.
