Tesla is overlaying journey prices for workers seeking out-of-state abortions, joining the ranks of major companies who’ve introduced the same policy to benefit workers affected by new restrictions prior to now few months.
The company said in its 2021 “ Affect Report ” launched Friday that it expanded its Security Internet program and health insurance offerings final year to incorporate “journey and lodging assist for those who may have to hunt healthcare providers which are unavailable of their house state.”
The car maker officially moved its company headquarters last year from Silicon Valley to Texas, which passed a regulation banning abortions at roughly six weeks of pregnancy.

Texas State Consultant Briscoe Cain, a Republican, has stated he would suggest legislation barring native governments within the state from doing business with any company that gives travel benefits for workers seeking abortions. Nationally, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio introduced a bill on Wednesday that might prohibit companies from claiming tax deductions for such prices.
Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk did not immediately reply to a request for remark, however he tweeted in September that he believes “government should rarely impose its will upon the people, and, when doing so, ought to aspire to maximize their cumulative happiness. That stated, I would like to stay out of politics.”
