Days after a minimum of 19 elementary faculty college students and two lecturers were killed in a mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas, college students at schools around the nation staged walkouts to protest gun violence.

In Michigan, college students at Oxford Excessive College, where a college shooting occurred in November, staged a walkout at 12 p.m. on Thursday. Four students were killed in the capturing.

"You see information day-after-day about kids getting shot and people your age dying and it's just extremely unhappy and unbelievable, especially to see like youngsters younger and kids my age," Janoff informed ABC News. "I cant imagine that being me; however it's imaginable as a result of it happens so usually."

The 17 year-old says her college's administration was in assist of the walkout and she or he hopes the over 200 deliberate demonstrations throughout the country send a transparent message that college students are a "united entrance."

A walkout could not essentially change laws, Janoff stated, but these actions show "college students are still united on this."

She stated that though most students aren't sufficiently old to vote, they still need to see change and are keen to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"College students don't must be quiet about it simply because they seem to be a kid," Janoff mentioned.
