Gabe Kapler: ‘I do not plan on coming out for the anthem going ahead till I really feel higher about the course of our nation’

Talking in the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler said, "I don't plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead till I really feel better about the course of our country."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mom in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked dad and mom making an attempt to organize to cost in to cease the shooter, including a father who learned his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are more vital than our children's freedom to go to high school without needing bulletproof backpacks and active shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the lack of supply of the promise of what our nationwide anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I want I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I want that I could have demonstrated what I learned from my dad, that while you're dissatisfied together with your nation, you let it be known by protest. The house of the brave should encourage this."

Kerr refused to speak about basketball ahead of Recreation 4 of the Warriors' collection against the Dallas Mavericks, as an alternative elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's taking pictures.

"In the final 10 days, we have had aged Black folks killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we've got children murdered at school," Kerr instructed reporters initially of the press conference.

"When are we going to do something? I'm tired. I am so tired of getting up here and offering condolences to the devastated households which might be out there ... I'm bored with the moments of silence. Sufficient."
