BERKELEY, Calif. - A 16-year-old boy was arrested after recruiting others to take part in a mass college taking pictures that might have included a bombing at Berkeley High Faculty, police say.
The teen was arrested Monday, when he turned himself in to police, Berkeley Police Department said in a press release. Monday was Memorial Day and there was no faculty that day.
The boy was arrested on suspicion of possessing destructive gadget supplies and threatening to commit against the law which is able to lead to dying or great bodily harm.
Police stated they obtained a tip on Saturday that the boy was recruiting others in plans of a shooting that included explosives. Following the tip, police obtained and executed a search warrant for a residence.
Police didn't say if the teenager was a scholar at Berkeley Excessive College.
Upon executing the search warrant, police stated they discovered elements to explosives and assault rifles, several knives, and digital gadgets that could possibly be used to create additional weapons.
At that point, a warrant was obtained for the teenager's arrest.

"Faculty safety remains a excessive precedence for the division," police mentioned in a statement.
Particulars on whom the teenager was making an attempt to recruit were not disclosed. Police said this case remains under investigation.
Berkeley Unified Supt. Brent Stephens instructed the school's community that the district was in shut contact with police throughout this investigation.
