Sherpa lady climbs Everest for 10th time, breaks own record

KATHMANDU, Nepal -- A Nepali Sherpa broke her personal report as essentially the most profitable feminine climber of Mount Everest by reaching the summit of the world's highest peak Thursday.

Lakpa Sherpa and several different climbers took benefit of favorable climate to reach the 8,849-meter (29,032-foot) summit early within the morning, her brother and expedition organizer Mingma Gelu said. He said she was in good health and was safely descending from the peak.

Sherpa, 48, never bought an opportunity to get a proper education because she needed to begin incomes a living by carrying climbing gear and provides for trekkers. Thursday's successful ascent was her tenth — essentially the most times any lady has climbed Everest — and she has always said she wanted to inspire all ladies so they can also obtain their desires.

A local of Nepal, Sherpa lives in the U.S. with her three children in West Hartford, Connecticut.
